HR Responsible 70-90%

The Bern Historical Museum is one of the most important cultural-historical museums in Switzerland. It is a growing repository of knowledge and experience regarding the culture and history of Bern and the world. Its collections encompass approximately 567,000 objects that offer insights into different historical periods and cultural contexts. The integrated Einstein Museum places the life and works of the physicist within the context of world history.
We are looking for an HR Responsible (70-90%) starting from May 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Would you like to contribute your knowledge and experience to a meaningful activity in an inspiring environment? In a team of two, you will be responsible for payroll processing, HR processes, personnel administration, as well as HR controlling, and actively shape strategic HR work.

Your main tasks

• Conducting monthly payroll runs including social security
• Creating the personnel budget and quarterly forecasts
• Supporting line management in HR tasks
• Recruiting in collaboration with line management
• Managing personnel files, responsible for the personnel system (Abacus) and time recording
• Continuous optimization of HR processes, digitalization of workflows

Your profile

You have a commercial basic education and a federal HR specialist diploma or a business education with a focus on HR management. In several years of generalist activity in human resources, you have gained solid experience, especially in the area of payroll processing. You are an integrous person with social and communication skills and have a flair for numbers and IT, as well as very good Excel skills. Your affinity for culture and museums enables you to understand and contribute to the spirit of the BHM.
