You are an innovative and future-oriented leader. You bring comprehensive HR knowledge, experience with change processes, and preferably a university degree in law. The Synodal Council, the executive of the Roman Catholic Corporation of the Canton of Zurich (Cantonal Church), is looking for a HR Manager (100%, m/w/d) based on the retirement of the previous incumbent on 1 September 2026 or by agreement. The versatile and strategic leadership position includes the following main tasks:
- Leadership and strategic development of the HR area and staff development of the Catholic Church in the Canton of Zurich
- Management of the HR team
- Ensuring the business processes of the HR department and supporting the HR management in HR matters (member of the Synodal Council)
- Preparation, implementation, and monitoring of decisions of the HR department as well as the Synodal Council and the Synod
- Advising and supporting the General Vicariate, parishes, and service and specialist offices in HR matters
- Developing legislative measures and further developing HR law
- Conducting training in HR law
- Preparing and controlling the HR department's budget.
Your Profile
- University degree at the tertiary level (preferably law)
- Experienced and innovative HR specialist with a federally recognized diploma or equivalent training
- Good knowledge of public law, especially labor law
- Leadership experience and pronounced negotiation skills
- Knowledge of the Catholic Church and its structures (dual system)
- Confident use of modern communication tools
The employment conditions are based on the employment regulations of the Roman Catholic Corporation of the Canton of Zurich, with the workplace located at Hirschengraben 72 near Zurich Main Station.
